Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information trackme.tv collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. trackme.tv is an independent project operated by its founders, not a registered company - we built it to help people organize what they watch, and we take the data you share with us seriously.

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the trackme.tv website, mobile apps, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, username, and any optional profile details you choose to add, such as a bio or a custom avatar image. If you sign in with Discord, we receive the basic profile information Discord shares with us (name, avatar, email) to create and link your account.

Authentication & security data

To keep your account secure, we store a securely hashed password (if you use email/password sign-in), session tokens, and, where you sign in with a provider like Discord, the OAuth tokens needed to maintain that connection. We also log the IP address and browser/device user agent associated with each sign-in session, which helps us detect suspicious activity and keep accounts safe.

Usage & activity data

We store the data you generate while using trackme.tv: your library entries and watch status, episode progress, ratings and reviews, custom lists, follows and blocks, comments and likes, and an activity log used to power features like your profile and friend activity feed.

Device & notification data

If you enable push notifications on the mobile app, we store a device push token and platform (iOS or Android) so we can deliver notifications such as new episode reminders or social activity. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate the Service: authenticating you, displaying your library and activity, personalizing recommendations, sending transactional emails (like password resets and email verification), sending push notifications you've opted into, moderating reported content, maintaining security, and improving the product.

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run trackme.tv, each acting under their own privacy and security practices: Neon (database hosting), Cloudflare R2 (avatar image storage), Resend (transactional email delivery), Expo (push notification delivery), Upstash (rate-limiting infrastructure), Discord (OAuth sign-in), and The Movie Database, TMDB (movie and show metadata - no personal account data is shared with TMDB). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Cookies & session tracking

trackme.tv uses cookies and similar session-storage mechanisms to keep you signed in and to remember preferences like your language and theme. These are functional cookies required for the Service to work - we do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; doing so removes your profile, library, lists, and personal information from active use, subject to a short grace period for backups and any records we're required to retain for legal or security purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can manage most of this yourself from Settings, or contact us directly and we'll help with your request.

Children's privacy

trackme.tv is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

International data transfers

trackme.tv operates as a small, independent project without a registered legal entity or fixed jurisdiction. Because our infrastructure providers operate globally, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We work only with providers that maintain reasonable security and privacy safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
